The Sociological Observer has just published its latest series and we are proud to say that HECAT has 4 articles in this issue with publications by Ray Griffin, Aisling Tuite, Zach Roche, and Antoinette Jordan. The sociological observer publishes original research and reflections by scholars in a newsletter format that falls somewhere between a journal article and a blog post. This is intended to give the articles a more accessible and readable style that facilitates better public sociology. This 4th issue of the observer was all about welfare – an area near and dear to the heart of HECAT situated within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ‘new normal’ it has engendered.
